Professional didgeridoos

If you have read the section of my website on choosing a didgeridoo you would have read a lot about what I think makes a good didgeridoo. Things such as a narrow mouthpiece, an even taper, and good quality hard wood timber are some attributes that will greatly improve the acoustic qualities and playability of a didgeridoo.

After writing so much about what makes a good didgeridoo, I wanted to see if there was a type of contemporary didgeridoo that could be hand crafted to achieve these attributes.

In collaboration with a local Sydney woodworker, www.howtoplaydidgeridoo.com is proud to present a new range of high quality contemporary didgeridoos made from a unique tapered hexagonal, or 'stave style', construction method. This style didgeridoo is my current instrument of choice, as shown in my how to play videos.

These didgeridoos are made from eight individually cut staves of Australian hardwood, fit together to make a didgeridoo with a narrow mouthpiece and a perfectly even taper. This shape gives the didgeridoo a clear, loud and truly professional sound. They are also super easy to play with great backpressure, especially for technically challenging rhythms.

A narrow mouthpiece also means you don't have to use wax. You play straight onto the natural mouthpiece allowing your lips to be more responsive to the resonance of the didgeridoo. No more endless fiddling around with your wax mouthpiece!

The natural finish also shows off the beauty of Australian hardwood and gives the didgeirdoo a unique, contemporary look. These are rare didgeridoos!
